RTX 8.1 Evaluation SDK *Includes RTX 8.1 SP1

The 30-day evaluation version of the RTX 8.1 Software Development Kit (SDK) has been updated to include RTX 8.1 Service Pack 1, which was released in November 2008 and which includes support for Windows®  XP SP3.

The evaluation SDK includes the tools needed to develop deterministic hard real-time applications for Windows 2000, Windows XP SP3, Windows XP Embedded, and Windows Vista. The evaluation SDK also includes the RTX runtime evaluation version that executes an RTX application developed with the evaluation SDK.

New features in RTX 8.1 include new RT-TCP/IP utilities and improvements:

  • Shared Multi-Processor support for Microsoft Windows Vista operating systems to complement our existing Uniprocessor and Dedicated Multi-Processor capabilities.
  • Smaller HAL timer periods, as low as 1µs.
  • Support for Message Signal Interrupt (MSI/MSI-X) capable RTX devices on all RTX supported operating systems, Windows 2000 through Vista.
  • Additionally, a number of RT-TCP/IP improvements, including:
    • Support for RAW sockets in the RT-TCP/IP stack.
    • Support for jumbo frame sizes larger than 1500 bytes in the RT-TCP/IP stack.
    • Support for the WSAEventSelect Winsock API.
    • Support for up to 255 different drivers in the RT-TCP/IP stack.

NOTE: IntervalZero product installations require the use of Microsoft® Windows® Installer 2.0 application installation and configuration service. Instmsi.exe is the redistributable package for installing or upgrading Windows® Installer.
