Real-Time Windows Sofwtare for Industrial Control Systems

Real-time Products Portfolio

MaxRT wRTOS on a Quad core processor

Product: MaxRT wRTOS™

A real-time operating system (RTOS) designed for Windows-based deployments. It provides the robustness and reliability of an RTOS while integrating seamlessly with the familiar Windows environment. This allows for real-time control and data processing directly on your PC. The next generation of RTX64, delivering unparalleled real-time capabilities for Windows.

MaxRT vRTOS on a Quad core processor

Product: MaxRT vRTOS (coming soon)

A real-time hypervisor-based solution which includes an IntervalZero’s RTOS that connects to a GPOS such as Windows or Linux.  This allows for the creation of virtual machines that can run real-time applications, providing flexibility and scalability in your automation solution. The vRTOS will support Linux initially, but then provide a transition for its existing customers by supporting Windows shortly thereafter. Supporting both Linux and Windows will give the machine builder many more options while protecting their investment and will allow their solution to adapt to fit into their customer’s environment.

MaxRT Optional Packages

Product: MaxRT Optional Packages

MaxRT products (wRTOS and vRTOS) provide optional packages to fit customers needs.
MaxRT Basic Networking option (TCP/IP, Bridging, TSN) ensures reliable, real-time communication over Ethernet, making it suitable for demanding industrial automation tasks especially in a distributed control system (DCS) environment.
MaxRT Fieldbus option features EtherCAT MainDevice (Master) and tools for high-speed, deterministic control of EtherCAT devices.
MaxRT GigE Vision packages provide a GigE driver for deterministic image capture and analysis.
More optional packages such as Motion or Software PLC, are available or coming soon.

Product: RTX64 RTOS Platform

For complex, high-precision embedded systems that seek to take advantage of Windows’ world-class HMI and IoT features and that also require determinism and hard real-time, RTX64 delivers a second deterministic scheduler that is tightly integrated with Windows.  By so doing, the platform delivers all the usability of Windows that can be deployed to deliver world-class RTOS capability.

Product: RTX 32-bit RTOS

When it was originally released in the 1990s, RTX was the first, native Win32-based Real-Time Extension (RTOS scheduler) for Windows.   With the help of Microsoft who was an investor at the time, RTX became the market share leader for Windows-based RTOS platforms.  While it is still available to the market and Windows RTOS market share leader, nearly all new Windows RTOS Platform projects have moved to RTX64, which is the next generation and 64-bit x86 following product to RTX.

Product:  ETS

Also known as Phar Lap Embedded Tool Suite RTOS

ETS is a real-time operating system (RTOS) based on the x86 CPU architecture.  For the most part, ETS users develop headless applications. As ETS is a discontinued product, ETS Software Development Kits (SDKs) are no longer available for sale. However, ETS runtime licenses can be purchased for all versions of ETS.
