The IoT ecosystem is comprised of smart devices using embedded sensors, processors, and communication hardware to give, receive, and apply data obtained from their surroundings. The novelty of IoT is that these interactions take place without human intervention. OPC is the interoperability standard for the secure and reliable exchange of data in the industrial automation space and in other industries. It is platform-independent and ensures the seamless flow of information among devices from multiple vendors.
