IntervalZero joins Avnu Alliance

Feb 29, 2024

WALTHAM, February 29, 2024 – IntervalZero, leading provider of innovative real time operating system (RTOS) solutions, that enable machine builders to design and deploy best-in-class machine controllers is now a proud member of Avnu Alliance. This cooperation will allow customers and industry partners to rely on a world-class TSN platform with Avnu-certified tools and a focus on industry requirements, IT/OT convergence, and interoperability with 3rd party products.

This partnership is important to IntervalZero because customers will depend on Avnu’s certification tools, designed to accelerate innovation, streamline design iterations, and foster confidence among end users, leading to the development of interoperable systems for real-time networking.

“In the IoT era, precision machines like those in semiconductor, robotics and other industries no longer standalone but rather are required to interconnect and share messages deterministically to be optimized at an operational rather than just machine level,” reports Jeff Hibbard, CEO of IntervalZero.  He continued, “IntervalZero looks forward to working closely with Avnu Alliance to ensure the standards of industrial control based on Time Sensitive Networks (TSN) truly reflect the needs of our machine builder customers.”

IntervalZero RTX64 transforms Windows into a real-time operating system (RTOS), which is built on the most relevant industry standards. Existing partnerships with standards bodies allow IntervalZero to offer customers access to software stacks for EtherCAT and CANopen, PLCopen, OPC-UA and more.  Driven by the Avnu Alliance, TSN has emerged as the latest family of standards that is now being demanded by the industrial automation sector and IntervalZero customers.

“The Avnu Alliance understands that TSN is a vital standards-based toolbox to RTOS vendors like IntervalZero, to their customers and to the industrial market”, said Avnu Alliance President, Dave Cavalcanti.  “We look forward to supporting IntervalZero’s effort to introduce TSN technologies to their customer base and to collecting the insights they glean along the way.  That way, Avnu can continually improve the quality of our TSN conformance and interoperability certification programs for all machine builders. “

IntervalZero develops hard real-time software, and its core product, RTX64, transforms Microsoft Windows into a real-time operating system (RTOS).

IntervalZero’s experience and expertise in embedded and real-time technology extends back to 1980 with the founding of its predecessor company, VenturCom, which developed the technology that led to Microsoft Windows NT Embedded.

Its most recent product, KINGSTAR, provides Machine Automation Software that meets Industrie 4.0 requirements. Built on the EtherCAT standard and RTX64, KINGSTAR empowers engineers to design, develop, and integrate applications with motion control, machine vision, and PLC…with some unique and key features (Plug ‘N’ Play EtherCAT master stack for any hardware brand, C/C++, IEC 611131-3, .NET development, PLC Open Motion Control compliant, Software only, IoT Ready…). Using a single industrial PC, you can replace all hardware with software only, quickly and cost-effectively.

The firm has a global presence with offices in Waltham, USA; Nice, France; Nuremberg, Germany; Taiwan, ROC and Pune, India.
