MaxRT wRTOS™ 1.0 Press Release
IntervalZero Announces MaxRT wRTOS™ 1.0 — All-Software Platform For Building Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in the Cyber‑Resilience and AI Era
March 2, 2026 – Waltham, MA — IntervalZero today announced the general availability of MaxRT wRTOS™ 1.0, a major evolution in software used to build Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
MaxRT wRTOS™ unifies the company’s RTX64 RTOS-based and KINGSTAR machine automation product lines into a single, modern, all‑software platform. MaxRT enables machine builders to design, deploy, and manage real‑time industrial control systems built for the demands of cyber resilience, IT/OT integration, IoT, and AI.
“MaxRT represents a significant leap forward for machine builders that seek to build industrial controls systems.” said Jeff Hibbard, CEO of IntervalZero. “By integrating the strengths of RTX64 and KINGSTAR, we’re giving OEMs tools to build an ICS when microseconds matter.”
The release arrives as machine builders prepare for the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which mandates timely security patching and increases operational and compliance burdens. MaxRT introduces the architectural foundation that will help customers prepare for CRA now and then modernize their ability to develop, deploy and manage remotely from the cloud in the future.
“We are thrilled to partner with IntervalZero in bringing MaxRT to market,” said Gianluigi Magnasco, Product Manager at Telestar. “This innovative product family will empower our customers to achieve new levels of precision and shorten their time to market.”
Key advancements in MaxRT wRTOS™ 1.0 include:
- Modernized Networking: Redesigned NL2 layer; EtherCAT and features that support TSN implementations; secure real‑time and non‑real‑time networking; Network Relay for single‑NIC for Windows and vRTOS operations; IEC/IEEE 60802 profile support.
- Modularization: New modular architecture improving quality, simplifying releases, and preparing for MaxRT vRTOS hypervisor-based solution.
- Streamlined Tools: New Settings Tool, updated Analyzer and Control Panel, Visual Studio 2022/2019/2017 support, and coexistence with previous SDKs.
- Broad OS Compatibility: Support for latest 64‑bit Windows editions including Windows 11 (25H2, 24H2, 23H2).
With this release, IntervalZero officially consolidates its real‑time and machine‑automation technologies under the MaxRT wRTOS™ brand, simplifying the product line and establishing the foundation for a unified, software‑defined industrial control platform.
